Peers for Progress is dedicated to addressing four core components of peer support: assistance in daily management of diabetes self-management, social and emotional support, linkages to care, and ongoing support extended over time.

• What has been your experience addressing these core functions in your peer support programs?
• In terms of these functions, what role does the peer supporter in you program often play?
• What problems do peer supporters encounter when trying to address these four core functions of peer support?
• If you have experience training peer supporters or being training as a peer supporter, how did your training address these core components of peer support?
• How can peer support most effectively complement and extend formal health services?
• What else do people with diabetes need in terms of support? In other words, what else would you add to the list of core components of peer support?
