The Latin American Diabetes Association (ALAD) and Peers for Progress invited Latin Americans of all ages who have diabetes to compete in a painting competition - Images of Diabetes 2008.
The main goal of the painting competition was to develop images that express a message of encouragement for people with diabetes to help each other people. Peers for Progress and ALAD are grateful for the outstanding participation and submission of images from artists throughout the region.
The final winners were selected by a jury from the Asociacion Plastica Celayence and President Octavio Ocampo Gonzalez.
The winners' paintings will be exhibited during the ALAD World Diabetes Day activities on November 14th at the Camino Real Hotel of Polanco in Mexico City. Each winner will receive a replica of a lithograph autographed by painter Octavio Ocampo Gonzalez.
